Facade
The peeling off of your facade was the most heartbreaking thing I've ever did
Standing from afar you look perfect, almost god-like
The filters did a great job at making you look like what you intended me to see
All the smiles and laughter were exposed as a lie when I got the chance to share a moment with you
In the end, I realize that you weren't paying attention anyway
You were always on your phone, scrolling away and when you're off
You look into my eyes and say, 'let's take a photo' or 'can you help me take a photo'
When I talk you're listening but your eyes told the truth
The notification from your phone blinked and I witnessed your immediate reaction
What can I do?
Not much really.
I just have to make the most out of the time we're together
The unfulfillment of every meetup saddens my heart
All the time we say that 'time is precious and can never earn it back' yet we live differently
There is only one 'today' and one 'now'
This moment is the only moment of our now, and watching you waste away saddens me
Again and again, I have to give you another chance
Again and again, I have to accept the new reality of spending time together
Sometimes if I followed my feelings, I would want to just stand up and leave
But there is no point in making such a fuss is there?
So the best way is to slowly slip away and find someone who truly cherishes the 'now-moment'
