Wishing Myself Away
Lucy grew up.
But she was unhappy, because when she looks at the mirror she wants to be like her sister.
Lucy was a fine young lady herself, brave and adventurous with a kind and gentle soul, but all she looks at is what her sister Susan has and forgotten who she is.
When Lucy found a spell book, she chanted the incantations of becoming beautiful, there and then the reflection in the mirror was Susan.
She didn't know that the book actually only reveals 'who her heart thinks is beautiful'.

She didn't know that the book actually only reveals 'who her heart thinks is beautiful'.
Beauty has no standards, it is not own by one but shared by all.
Anything and anyone can be beautiful as long as you believe they are.
Suddenly, the mirror door opened.
She walks into a party with everyone welcoming her as Susan.
The glamour, the praise and with a few young men's gaze, at last Lucy has what she wanted.
Then her brothers came and praise her for her beauty, and they walk towards the camera to take a family photo.
"At last, we can take a family photo as a whole" they said.
"Wait, how about me? Lucy?" she said.
"Lucy who?" says Peter.
"Lucy, our younger sister!" she said.
"I'm sorry, we don't have a younger sister." says Peter.
And she woke up, looking at the mirror.
In the mirror she saw her reflection again, but this time with Aslan standing beside her.
"I'm sorry. It was terrible. I just wanted to be beautiful" as she looks at Aslan.
Aslan knew her heart, he sees her insecurities.
And he spoke.
You wished yourself away, and with it much more.
Your brothers and sisters wouldn't know Narnia without you Lucy.
You discovered it first, remember?
You doubt your value.
Don't run from who you are.
After finishing, the great lion left and Lucy woke up from her dream.
Don't run from who you are.
I love movies and books, because I can always relate to them and learn something from it.
I learned that everyone struggles, sometimes on a good day we can stand firm and know who we truly are, but on bad days the fight for our identity becomes fierce.
We all have a Susan in our lives, having all the things we 'think' we want, being celebrated and praised by people. And many times we are like Lucy, being blinded by what others have and forgotten what we have and who we are.
I am insecure, we all are.
But one thing I want to learn is to take the great lion Aslan's advice
Do not doubt my value and run away from who I am.
Be gentle and compassionate, don't be too harsh on yourselves.
If you sit down and talk to people, you'd be surprise that many people are going through the same struggles in life.
Don't be shy to share it out, because the strength that comes from being authentic before people is strong and courageous.
I always thought that the lone samurai represents strength, but I was wrong.
It only represents isolation, loneliness and fear of being in deep connection with others.
I think I know what I should do.
How about you?
Look in the mirror and put your hand on your heart
and say
"I Am Enough"
